Strand #2:  How  Effective  Building-Level Teams work

The CVMS Leadership Team consists of one member from each grade level team.  Additionally, these members represent a variety of contents.  The Leadership Team meets at least twice a month, assisting in the planing and presentation of faculty meetings, and professional development discussions.  The 8 member leadership team is comprised as follows:
  • 6th grade representative
  • 7th grade representative
  • 8th grade representative
  • Exploratory representative
  • Special Education representative
Three additional staff representatives include:
  • Counselor
  • Assistant Principal
  • Principal

Leadership Team members are the portal through which building-wide communication occurs.  CVMS Leadership Team members hold all teachers accountable, so that we ensure our goals are met.  A former member once mentioned that being on this team requires supporting the decision that best reflects the needs of the school--even if you don't fully agree.  How true!!  Sometimes, we all have to take one for the team!
